The dispatcher will ask you for location and situation details, then send trained volunteers to the scene.

If it is an ICE raid, legal observer volunteers will record the event, identify the agents on the scene, and inform the people involved of their constitutional rights.

After the incident,
volunteers will follow up to connect people affected with a local member of CIRC’s statewide DocuTeam. They will work with you to further document the event, refer you to legal resources if necessary, and create a plan of action.

Why Report?
Documentation monitors police/ICE collaboration detects patterns that can guide our legislative efforts, and builds a robust statewide network of people resisting deportations in their communities. The testimonies of directly impacted people helped Colorado repeal our “show me your papers” law that forced local police to act as ICE agents in 2013.

Join the team of volunteers who document past ICE incidents. When Hotline Callers call our hotline, they can choose to select option 2, where they can be connected to a volunteer trained to document a testimony of a past ICE incident or Police-ICE collaboration. Noting these testimonies supports legislation that protects human rights and due process for all Coloradans regardless of their status.
